Summary: Inside every secret, there's a world of trouble. Get ready for the second book in this new series of global proportions--from master of intrigue, New York Times bestselling author Ally Carter.

Grace's past has come back to hunt her . . . and if she doesn't stop it, Grace isn't the only one who will get hurt. Because on Embassy Row, the countries of the world stand like dominoes, and one wrong move can make them all fall down.

The twists get twistier and the turns get even more shocking in the second thrilling installment of Embassy Row.

I've been waiting for this book since last summer when I read All Fall Down, the first book in the series. I thought the secrets and mystery in this book resembled the Gallagher Girls series.

First, lets talks about the characters. I loved Jamie, Alexei, and Noah, or basically all of the guys. One of my favorite aspects of this series is that Grace is best friends with a guy and it is completely PLATONIC. It's hard to find books with boy-girl best friends who don't fall in love with each other, but this book has it! Noah is a sweet and caring. He is the best friend that tries to help Grace investigate while trying to keep her safe at the same time.

Jamie was adorable. He was protective of Grace too while carrying some baggage of his own. He is a great older brother that cares about what she went through and wants to help her. The sibling banter was a nice relief from all the negative vibes of the book. I feel like there is more that meets that eye with Jamie so I look forward to reading about him.

And then there is Alexei. It was eluded in the book that there was more to Alexei than we originally thought so I'm excited to discover what he is hiding. He plays a much bigger role in this book and I loved every moment we had with him. He is honorable and protective of Grace. He is always there for her when she needs him. He is probably my favorite character in the series so far.

It's hard for me to talk about Grace. I'm trying really hard to like her since I loved all of Carter's past characters, so I didn't realize it would be this difficult to actually like Grace. She whines a lot, which is understandable considering what she went through, but honestly I don’t want to read a book filled with complaints and an awful attitude. Also, she runs away in EVERY SCENE. Whenever she gets emotional, which is often, she fleas the situation. Like she literally runs away. This happened 5 or 6 times in the book.

The ending was a cliff-hanger, but I liked it. It made me very curious as to which direction this series will go. While the pace was very slow, the story really picked up in the end. There is some lies and betrayal as well as some revelation that will shock you. One thing is that I hope we get some information about Grace's father in the next book, because he hardly has any role in the series so far. I would like to get to know her father considering he is her father.

This was a nice book that had some faults, but I think Ally Carter fans will like this. Overall, I would recommend it for mystery lovers.
